Shenakht is a quarterly, double-blind, peer-reviewed journal affiliated with the Department of Philosophy at Shahid Beheshti University. First published in 1999, it received its scientific-research grade in 2009, approved by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology.

The journal is dedicated to advancing philosophical scholarship and strengthening the foundations of philosophical inquiry. Special emphasis is placed on innovation, as originality is a key criterion in evaluating submissions. Shenakht particularly welcomes articles that raise fundamental philosophical questions, revisit central issues, and engage in novel interdisciplinary approaches, including philosophy and literature as well as philosophy and aesthetics.

With a rigorous peer-review process and an average review time of four months, Shenakht maintains high academic standards. The acceptance rate is around 30%. Submissions undergo plagiarism checks through iThenticate and Samimnoor (for Persian manuscripts). The journal follows an open-access policy, and a publication fee is required after acceptance. In 2024 and 2025, Shenakht was ranked “A” by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology.

The journal is owned and published by Shahid Beheshti University, Iran.
