According to Foucault, human beings have changed into subjugated
subjects in the Western culture during the modern age. He
examines to three ways of objectification to find out the mechanism
of evolving the obedient subject. Therefore, based on Foucault’s
analysis, humans are changed into obedient subjects through the
three ways of objectification. This paper considers the second way
of objectification will be discussed related to diving practices. I will
clarify the role of these practices in mechanism of evolving the
subjugated subject. Accordingly, after the short introduction, in the
first chapter i.e. dividing practices are to be described this concept,
and then, in the second and third chapters, two cases of examples
of Foucault will be amplified about dividing practices and their role
in mechanism of evolving the subjugated subject. Therefore, in the
second chapter, the mad/the sane diving practices, with emphasis
on the institution of asylum will be expressed, and, in the third
chapter, the criminal/the normal diving practices, with emphasis on
the institution of prison will be discussed
