Journal Article 2025 02 05 The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between Buber’s and Levinas’s ideas by emphasizing the concept of otherness. Research has been conducted on various topics related to Buber’s and Levinas’s ideas in the field of moral philosophy. However, the relationship between them remains an ambiguous area of study. This research seeks to provide a comparative reflection on the concept of otherness according to the thoughts of these two philosophers. Based on the studies conducted, while Buber’s thoughts emphasize an <em>I-Thou</em> relationship that fosters a symmetrical, close, and reciprocal connection, Levinas highlights a face-to-face encounter characterized by an asymmetrical distance. Levinas criticizes Buber’s <em>I-Thou</em> relationship as insufficiently ethical because it prioritizes the self over the other in a self-centered process of formation. In fact, Levinas argues for the irreducible distance between the <em>I</em> and the <em>Other</em>, where the <em>Other</em> is no longer assimilated into the <em>I</em> or the self. According to Levinas’s thought, if, in encountering another, there is an expectation of reciprocal and equal treatment from the <em>Other</em>, one steps outside the ethical realm. هدف این تحقیق بررسی چگونگی ارتباط اندیشه بوبر و لویناس با تاکید بر مفهوم «دیگری» است. مطابق اندیشه‌های بوبر و لویناس و در زمینه فلسفه اخلاق، پژوهش‌های فراوانی با موضوع‌های مختلف انجام شده است. با این حال، رابطه بین آن‌ها هنوز هم به‌عنوان یک زمینه تحقیقاتی گنگ و مبهم باقی‌مانده است. این تحقیق درصدد است تا بازتابی مقایسه‌ای در مواجهه با مفهوم «دیگری» مطابق با اندیشه‌های این دو فیلسوف ارائه نماید. با بررسی‌های انجام‌شده در‌ حالی که اندیشه‌های بوبر با یک رابطه متقابل «من» و «تو» همراه بوده است که یک رابطه متقارن، نزدیک و هم‌سو را پرورش می‌دهد، لویناس بر رویارویی رو در رو تأکید کرد که با فاصله‌ای نامتقارن مشخص می‌شود. لویناس نظر انتقادی خود را به رابطه «من و تو» بوبر مطرح و مدعی می‌شود که برخورد بوبر به اندازه کافی اخلاقی نیست، زیرا طرف مقابل را به نفع یک فرآیند شکل‌گیری خودمحورانه نقض می‌کند. در واقع لویناس به فاصله میان «من» و «دیگری» معتقد است و «دیگری»، «من» یا «خود» دیگر نیست. از سویی در اندیشه لویناس، اگر در مواجهه با «دیگری»، انتظار برخورد متقابل و یکسان از «دیگری» وجود‌ داشته باشد، از حیطه اخلاقی خارج می‌شویم. https://kj.sbu.ac.ir/article_105581_71dc347a039d17d2d0f78fce6c893b4b.pdf
